Sad dance, experimental post-punk/electronic band based in Vilnius, Lithuania, Solo Ansamblis quickly gained sympathies in Lithuanian music scene because their music combines rave and emotion shattering moods, electronic sounds with live instruments, analog synthesizers and digitally processed sound. Moreover, bands audiovisual performances are consistent and inducing into unique and esthetically powerful Solo Ansamblis world. Atmosphere here is equally created by sound and light, scenography and smoke. All of it is united by meaningful band members’ lyrics as well as music which unleashes body and sensibility, where you can dance as if nobody is watching. It invites for a trip within yourself, your mind and heart. The ever-growing audience named their style as ‘sad dance’. Their debut album “Roboxai” (2016) achieved great success and led the band to play in the main 2017's music festivals and events in Lithuania, warm-up such bands as Gus Gus, Röyksopp and She Past Away, to held two sold-out tours and earn best alternative bands award and 3 more nominations in the Lithuanian Music Awards 2016.

Biography

Solo Ansamblis quickly gained sympathies by music that combines rave and emotion shattering moods, electronic sounds & live instruments, gathering a devoted fan base within and outside Lithuania.

Live audiovisual performances construct an intimate experience inducing into an aesthetically powerful Solo Ansamblis world. Atmosphere is equally created by sound and light, scenography and smoke. All of it is united by meaningful band members’ lyrics as well as music which unleashes body and sensibility, where you can dance as if nobody's watching. It invites a trip within yourself, your mind and heart. The ever-growing audience named their style as ‘sad dance’.

The debut album “Roboxai” (2016) achieved great success, that was followed by singles „Netildai“, „Eskalatorius į Dangų“, "Limonadas", „1“, "Dansingas" later. All of that led the band to headline the main music festivals and events in Lithuania and opened the international stage, the band performed in Reeperbahn, ESNS, Tallinn Music Week, Nouvelle Prague and others.

Solo Ansamblis had released a mini vinyl “Dansingas” in 2019, which featured a unique photo series together with a remix by “Boot&Tax”. That same year the band reached 3 mln Spotify plays, their Youtube channel had over 3.8 mln views while their Facebook and Instagram accounts had each 12 and 3 thousand followers accordingly”. The year culminated with the band being nominated in the Music Moves Europe Talent Awards 2019.

Their second album “Olos” (2020) were released with Canadian label “Artoffact records”, new tracks got international success with international blogs like post-punk.com, brooklynvegan.com, tv.booooooom.com, etc. The year 2020 was the most notable for music videos. The band has so far released 6 of them: “Baloje”, “Fosforinis baseinas”, “Neturėjom dainos” “Oro balionu”, “Bydermejeris” and the most spectacular one - “Dansingas”, which featured almost one hundred actors, stunt doubles and even a trained horse. Another notable achievement in 2020 was a show played in the “Ment” festival in Slovenia.

Solo Ansamblis shared the stage together with MODESELEKTOR, Gus Gus, Röyksopp, She Past Away, Boot&Tax and others.
