Ugniavijas

Ugniavijas belongs to a small number of all-male folk bands in Lithuania. Members of the band bring unique tradition of ancient Lithuanian war songs. Strong voices, sincere attitude, careful reconstruction and modern approach to authentic heritage – these are the key elements of Ugniavijas success. Started in 2007, with three albums released and increasing number of live appearances every year, Ugniavijas became the real phenomenon in the Baltic region. They are responsible for the revival of traditional folk music in Lithuania, especially among young generation. The band’s members are active in historical clubs and other music collectives, passionately exploring medieval crafts, clothing, musical instruments in every detail. Ugniavijas add a contemporary touch to the beautiful Baltic culture following the principles of the post-folk genre.
