In adapting the symphonic poem In the Forest for piano four hands, pianists Rokas and Sonata Zubovai wanted to preserve as much of the composer‘s intent as possible, so they kept only authentic tempo references, dynamics, and articulation marks. Some of them (e.g., the crescendo on the chord in the first bars) may be impossible to play on the piano, but they reveal the composer‘s original intent.
