The majority of music (both acoustic and electronic) composed by Antanas Kučinskas falls under the category of ‘loop music’. “I am an omnivorous parasite and make music, which feeds on existing music, grows at its expense, and finally destroys it, like a tumour,” says the composer in his peculiarly provocative and self-ironic manner.

In the multi-movement cycle Loop Catalogue / Index nodorum he ‘loops up’ the tiny fragments of Steve Reich, Bronius Kutavičius, Robert Schumann, Manuel de Falla, Lithuanian folk polka, his own music, and whatnot. In the cycle’s last movement Last Loop / Nodus finalis he offers respectful and at the same time somewhat ironical approach to the legacy of popular music, namely the fragments from the Edith Piaf recording.
