Sheep Effect

"Sheep Effect" is a solo project of a saxophonist and composer Simonas Šipavičius, in which he creates sounds inspired by jazz, experimental and electronic dance music.

Biography

Sheep Effect released its debut album "Saxual Harassment" in 2019 – here "Simonas drags the tortured saxophone into electronica, which includes drum'n'bass, techno, minimal, and even IDM manifestations; this is jazz for clubs, clubs and parties" ("Gintariniai akiniai, 370"). During a live performance, a saxophone or audience cheer travels through sound effects equipment and into a recording program. After layering the sounds, the performer is no longer playing an instrument when playing live, but is playing and conveying recorded musical thoughts.

Simonas Šipavičius is well known to jazz and alternative music listeners: the saxophonist, in addition to the solo project "Sheep Effect", is a member of the groups "Sheep Got Waxed", "Baroque Contempo" and "Lithuanian JJazz Ensemble", collaborates with creators of academic and popular music, actively participates in Lithuanian, European and Asian music scenes.
