Technoid electrohouse music seems to be inseparable from popular 80’s aerospace science themes for CCCP, the tandem of two well-known producers and electronic music enthusiasts – Art G (the author of remixes for a number of Lithuanian and Russian pop/rock stars) and Justin Xara (the member of Mixmasters DJ duo and a handful of other projects). CCCP (the Russian for USSR) is not an accidental name – those four letters were written on the Soviet satellites and spaceships. Release titles like Cosmodrome Baikonur and Rakety follow the same 'storyline'. The Soviet-tinged aerospace theme doesn’t translate itself into kitsch, however; CCCP’s tight, crystal-clear synth grooves, drawing equally from 70’s and 80’s electronic music and today’s melodic tech/progressive house, sound serious enough to be released by top labels concentrating on the more progressive dance music.
